Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a quick look at these Yakima Replacement SuperLatch Handles. These are going to replace two of your SuperLatch handles for your Yakima SkyBox or SkyBox Pro cargo box. These will work with all models of the SkyBox or SkyBox Pro from 2009 and newer. So this is going to allow you to open and close your SkyBox from either side.
So very easy to get your SkyBox functioning again, if the original handles have become damaged or no longer operating properly. This will function just like the original. It's got the built-in SKS locks with the included keys that allow you to lock the box and they do include instructions to walk you through the process. Very simple to get these installed, pictures are very clear in how to do that. So, if you are needing to replace those original SuperLatch handles for your Yakima SkyBox, this is going to be exactly what you need.
You'll just unscrew the originals from inside your SkyBox and then put this in its place and screw it in. So, just the basic explanation of the installation but the instructions are a little bit more detailed for you. So, if you are needing to replace those original handles even if it's just the one, this will be a great option for you and then you'll have an extra one on hand if you we're to ever need that one as well. Ordering and updates were great. I especially liked the personalization of everything (employee pictures, phone numbers and email). Installation took a little time because the actual installation and fitting in was not part of the video. Overall - very happy with product.
Exact match for the locking handles on my Yakama Skybox. Installation instructions were clear and easy to follow although I had to improvise a bit as I could not get the handle with the broken-off key open. So I opened the opposite side and removed the screws holding the broken handle and with a bit of persuasion I was able to remove the broken handle assembly and relock the opposite side. At that point gently using a a large screw driver to move the inside locking mechanism to the open position and "tada" everything went back together per the instructions.
Pretty tough to install even with the great instructions. It is the nature of these locks. Not a lot you can do to change that issue. But I was super glad to get these from etrailer!0
Works perfect. The directions from Yakima were a little unclear. The e trailer video could be updated to show a step by step (it wasn’t clear that I needed to lock while open during install and before closing) and eventually figured that out through trial and error. Product works perfect and added new life to my old Yakima skybox.
The new latches went in fairly easily, and work well. One of them is a little stiff when turning the key to lock and unlock, even after lubing it. Overall I'm glad I purchased these.
Very happy, i had bought the yakima cargo roof rack from a car dealer friend knowing on of the locks was missing. The other had a key but it doesn't go with that lock. I bought a set of new barrel locks for the latches. But installed them snd the latches still didn't work, so i told my wife i didn't trust those latches. So bought yours and all is good. Now i can pit it up to the ceiling in my garage. We'll probably it will stay till i die thank you. Leon

The replacement locks worked as described—installation was a bit more hands on then I expected.
Broke key off in original lock. Ordered these replacements. Quick delivery. Clear instructions. Took a bit to get the one with broken key out to replace but was able to do it. Year later and both locks still working great. Worth every penny.
